CALL FOR PAPERS

The 15th Annual Private Law and Social Justice Conference will be held on 5 and 6 August 2024 at Nelson Mandela University in a hybrid format.

Celebrating 30 years of democracy and 15 years of the Private Law and Social Justice Conference the theme for this year's conference is:

"Back to the future or back to basics? The paradigm of private law and social justice - a journey or a destination?"

The organisers invite academics to submit proposals for papers linked with the above theme in the following areas of private law:

Family Law
Law of Persons
Customary Law
Law of Things
Law of Succession

Law of Contract
Law of Unjustified Enrichment
Law of Delict

Proposals for papers are due by 15 JUNE 2024. No late proposals will be accepted.

A proposal should include the following: The title of the paper and an abstract of no more than 250 words; author(s) name(s), institutional affiliation and contact details; three to four keywords. Please indicate how your proposal relates to the theme.

The presentation of completed papers may not exceed 20 minutes. Please note that all abstracts will be reviewed. Abstracts must be sent to privatelawgen@mandela.ac.za. Please copy Prof A Mukheibir at andre.mukheibir@mandela.ac.za.
